Mudcat is involved with many organizations promoting charitable and community causes nationwide. As a member of the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA), Mudcat protects the dignity of baseball as a positive role model. This group of former Major League baseball players works in many communities throughout the country, promoting baseball and motivating young people to stay in school and to get involved in sports and other wholesome activities.

Mudcat also sits on the Board of Directors for the MLBPAA. Below is a list of the organizations for which Mudcat volunteers his time and efforts. He refers to them as "Mud's Club".
